Election of Parent Governor Representatives to Lambeth Council’s Children’s Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee - self-nominations requested

Lambeth Council’s Children’s Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee has vacancies for two maintained school Parent Governor Representatives.  These vacancies may be filled by parent governors of any maintained school in the borough, but not by those from academies or free schools.
More details regarding the role of these Parent Governor Representatives can be found in the Information for Parent Governor Representatives on Lambeth Council’s Children’s Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee document attached, along with a nomination form (also attached).
We are seeking self-nominations from anyone interested in becoming a maintained school Parent Governor Representative on the Children’s Services Scrutiny Sub-Committee.  In the event that more nominations are received than there are vacancies, an election will be held.
Unfortunately, even though you may be an elected parent governor, you are not permitted to stand for election if you are
•        an employee of the local authority (Lambeth Council);
•        an employee of a school maintained by the local authority (including both teaching and non-teaching staff);
•        an elected councillor at any local authority;
•        a Parent Governor Representative at another local authority;
although you will still be eligible to vote, if an election is required
If you would like to nominate yourself for election as a Parent Governor Representative, please complete the attached nomination form and personal statement (one document) by Friday 3 May 2019 at 12noon.  Please note: nominations will only be accepted if the nomination form AND personal statement are both returned, fully completed.  Nomination papers must be returned, by the deadline, to

03 Apr 2019
